A gunman opened fire on a Brooklyn street Thursday evening, missing his intended target but shooting an 11-year-old boy and a 31-year-old man, police said.

The suspect, who was taken into custody by police a few blocks from the shooting, started shooting at about 7 p.m. near Lincoln Place and Schenectady Avenue in Crown Heights, authorities said.

The 11-year-old was hit “in between his upper chest and shoulder area” and rushed to Kings County Hospital in critical condition, police said. He was expected to survive.

The man was hit in the knee, cops said. He took himself to Kings County Hospital and is expected to recover.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene after the shooting.

“We were in the barber shop. I just saw people were running,” witness Ken Law said.

“We heard three shots. ‘Boom. Boom. Boom.’ And people just started running. Just a lot of people running, screaming and somebody said ‘kid just got shot!’”

Kyle Shermer, 25, who’d been taking out his trash nearby, added: “It was pandemonium. It was rapid fire, four continuous shots. The mom was shocked, saying: “‘You shot my kid!’”
