A 12-year-old boy struck by a car over the weekend remains in a coma at a suburban New York hospital.
Peekskill police say the boy was one of several children crossing the street Saturday night at a Route 9 intersection when he was struck.
The truck was existing a southbound ramp when it happened. Police say it appeared that the 78-year-old driver had a green light. Police say the boys’ dark clothing may have been a factor in the accident.
No charges have been filed against the driver, who stopped after hitting the boy.
The boy was taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. His name was not released.
