A 12-year-old boy was shot in the ankle while playing with friends in Brooklyn, authorities said.
The boy, identified by sources as Michael Andrews, was outside the Louis H. Pink Houses on Linden Blvd in East New York when a bullet struck him around 10 p.m. Monday.
Andrews, with the help of his friends, walked back to his home at a nearby apartment complex and realized he was bleeding, cops said.
EMS workers were called to the scene and rushed the boy to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.
Police do not believe he was the intended target.
