The first rule of driving is: Be old enough to drive.
A pigtailed 11-year-old girl crashed a car into a parked vehicle in Brooklyn on Friday — while being taught to drive by her mother’s boyfriend, police sources said.
The kid motorist, who was behind the wheel of a silver Acura with her mom’s beau in the front passenger seat, hit the back of a parked burgundy GMC SUV on Bethel Loop near Vandalia Avenue in East New York at about 10:30 a.m., cops said.
The force of the crash was enough to push the GMC into another vehicle, a gray Nissan Versa, parked in front of it.
“Look at my tire, man,” the owner of the GMC griped to The Post.
There were no injuries, according to police.
It was not clear how far the underage driver — who was wearing a T-shirt with smiley faces — got before the crash.
The boyfriend of the child’s mother will not be criminally charged, authorities said.
Police said the city’s Administration for Children’s Services was notified of the incident as part of protocol.
The owner of the GMC said he and his wife “were about to be on our way to BJ’s [Wholesale Club]’’ when the crash occurred.
“My wife heard the boom, and we ran out,” said the man, who declined to give his name.
“Thank God I wasn’t in the car waiting for her.”
Local residents were shocked that a child was behind the wheel.
“How you gonna let a child drive a car like that? Forget about bad driving — that’s bad parenting,” Albert Greenwood said.
Lynell Williams added, “I’ve heard of parents letting the kids pretend to drive on their laps, but never anything like this. Her mother better think twice about who she bringing around her daughter.”
