A Queens man used bogus court documents to swipe $128,000 from a homeowner, authorities said yesterday.
Leonard Lum had about $128,000 in equity in his Corona home when it was foreclosed, which he was supposed to receive after the house was sold and the mortgage satisfied, Queens DA Richard Brown said.
Instead, in February, Harry Coumnas, 50, filed papers in Queens Supreme Court, purportedly signed by Lum and his wife, saying the homeowner had assigned Coumnas the equity in exchange for $25,000, Brown said.
Coumnas was charged with attempted grand larceny.
