A 14-year-old boy went on a joyride in the Bronx Tuesday, smashing into cars and trying to ram a police cruiser once officers arrived, cops said.
The teen was driving a van along Crosby and Waterbury avenues just before 3:30 p.m. when he lost control and hit five parked cars, according to police.
When cops arrived, the teen drove at a “high rate of speed toward” the police car, which eluded the van at the last second, officials said.
The joyride ended on Zulette Avenue when the kid crashed and was caught.
No injuries were reported, authorities said.
It wasn’t known how or why he got behind the wheel.
Police charged the boy with reckless driving, menacing, criminal trespassing, grand larceny, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, disorderly conduct, driving without a license, and assault, police said.
Police did not release the name of the boy because of his age.
