A Bronx man died yesterday after two thugs beat him over the head for a measly $15, cops said.

Bimal Chanda, who was married and had a daughter, walked into his apartment building on West 190th Street in Fordham at about 9 a.m. Saturday and began climbing the stairs to his third-floor apartment.

Two muggers had followed Chanda, 59, from the street into his building and grabbed him on the second-floor landing, cops said.

One attacker repeatedly struck him in the head with an unknown metal object, while the other grabbed the cash, cops said.

Chanda was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died yesterday at about 6a.m.

Chanda, who had lived in the building for more than 25 years, “always made conversation with my kids … he always told them, ‘Keep going to school,’” a neighbor said.
