1st gay fed judge
The country’s first openly gay federal judge was confirmed yesterday to serve in the Southern District of New York.
J. Paul Oetken, a Yale law grad, who clerked for then-Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun, was nominated by Sen. Charles Schumer, who called Oetken “brilliant . . . and unwavering in his dedication to public service.”
