INWOOD, N.Y. — Two Long Island men are under arrest for allegedly attacking a landscaper and robbing him of more than $1,000 in cash.

Nassau County police say the 36-year-old victim was discussing a landscaping job with Jose Gomez on Monday night when they got into an argument. Police say Gomez punched the victim in the eye and slashed him in the stomach with a landscaping tool.

Police say another man, Nathan Thomas, then entered the Inwood apartment and held the victim down while Gomez removed the money from his pockets.

The victim suffered swelling in one eye and cuts to his stomach and left forearm. He wasn’t identified.

Police charged both defendants with robbery. Gomez was additionally charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. It wasn’t immediately clear if they had lawyers.
