Two people were killed by a fire that tore through a New Jersey home early Wednesday.

The house on Sheridan Street in Jamesburg burst into flames around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Jamesburg Bridge Police Department.

Firefighters confirmed that two people were found dead when they arrived at the scene, officials added.

Thick smoke can be seen billowing from the single-family home where the blaze began, according to video from the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation
