A Port Authority cop shot his elderly mom and sister before turning the gun on himself in the family’s Bronx apartment in an apparent botched double murder-suicide, police and law enforcement sources said.

Mario Garcia, 55, and his older sister Maria Garcia, 59, were both found dead with gunshot wounds, cops said, while the alleged shooter’s 86-year-old mother was also found clinging to life.

The bodies were both found with head wounds when cops responded just before 8 a.m. to a 911 call for multiple shots fired inside a co-op building on Johnson Avenue in Spuyten Duyvil, authorities and sources said.

“It’s a terrible shock,” one neighbor, Jane Burbank, told The Post. “I don’t understand what happened with the brother. I don’t get it at all.

“She was a wonderful person,” she said of Maria Garcia. “She was full of life, she loved to dance. She loved to get people together.”

Another tenant called the tragedy “horrifying.”

“The most crime that’s ever happened in this building was a robbery,” they said. “I would never expect a murder suicide to happen here, ever.”

The elderly woman suffered a gunshot wound to the face, cops said. She was rushed to Harlem Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Maria Garcia was discovered lying in bed and was pronounced dead at the scene, cops and sources said.

Investigators believe the man fired at his relatives and then turned the weapon on himself, the sources said.

Officials at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey declined to comment on the shooting, and referred questions to the NYPD.
