One firefighter suffered minor injuries battling a blaze that ignited a truck containing motor oil and anti-freeze in the Bulls Head neighborhood of Staten Island this morning, according to reports.

The driver of the truck was also injured and taken to an area hospital, while the injured firefighter was taken to Staten Island University Hospital, reported the Staten Island Advance.

The truck was stopped near the Mobil gas station on Richmond Avenue, close to the intersection with Victory Boulevard, when the fire broke out, causing some of the vehicle’s contents to spill into a nearby sewer, an FDNY spokesman said.

Firefighters contained the blaze around 9:10 a.m., according to the FDNY spokesman.

The fire did not damage the gas station.
