Two new firms with ties to Yonkers and Monticello video-slot-machine parlors have emerged as potential bidders to operate 4,500 slots at Aqueduct racetrack in Queens, state officials announced yesterday.
The Malaysian conglomerate Genting — a 50 percent owner of the firm operating the Monticello Raceway “racino” — has filed a $1 million refundable entry fee to bid on the Aqueduct project, sources said.
Meanwhile, Empire City Casino, which operates the Yonkers racino, has also jumped into the Aqueduct sweepstakes.
