MASSAPEQUA, NY — Two sisters were injured, one seriously, after being struck by a car on Long Island.
The accident occurred at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday on Merrick Road in Massapequa as the girls were crossing the street.
A 15-year-old girl sustained severe head trauma and was listed in serious condition at a hospital. Her 13-year-old sister was treated for leg injuries and is in stable condition.
Police say no charges have been filed against the 18-year-old driver. The car was impounded for brake and safety checks.
