A few Jewish inmates are going whole hog in the city’s jail system.

Officials said about 20 of the city’s 12,500 prisoners are requesting — and receiving — meals that are certified as “glatt kosher,” the strictest level of kosher certification.

Three servings of the special chow costs taxpayers $6.92 a day.

By comparison, regular kosher jail food goes for $6.46 a day, while halal meals are a relative bargain at $4 a day — not much more than the $3.82 standard fare served to 7,000 inmates.

The city is currently soliciting new bids for jail food.
