BALDWIN, NY — Gunshots and a stabbing have marred a high school football game on Long Island.

Nassau County police say the annual homecoming game at Baldwin High School was suspended at around 8:30 p.m. Friday when a 20-year-old man was stabbed and someone fired gunshots in the school’s parking lot.

No one was hit by the gunfire, but a car window was smashed.

Police said the stabbing victim’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Baldwin School district spokeswoman Christina Schmohl tells Newsday that police and school security had the stadium evacuated as a precaution.

Baldwin was leading Hicksville High School 33 to 0 when the game was called off.

No arrests were made at the scene and police were still investigating what happened.
