Twenty-three dogs were seized from a couple of Brooklyn homes on Thursday, following complaints from neighbors who told authorities the animals were living in dire conditions.
Animal Care and Control officials removed 10 dogs from 2713 Avenue Y, Sheepshead Bay. The remaining 13 were a few blocks down, 4215 Bedford Avenue, where sources say the animals were kept without heat, water or electricity.
Citing an ongoing investigation, a spokesperson for the Brooklyn DA’s Office would not comment on whether criminal charges are pending for the dog owners.
