MoMA mia!

Admission fees will jump from $20 to $25 at the Museum of Modern Art in September, a hike that had some visitors doing an imitation of “The Scream.”

“$20 is already too expensive!” Patti Dey, 70, a retired teacher said yesterday. “They already have so many people here — it’s a zoo! Why do they need more money?”

MoMA says the hike, the first in seven years, was necessary because the institution has “faced escalating costs in virtually all aspects of operating the museum.”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art also increased admission to $25 recently, but that is just a suggested donation.

Visitors said the hike was inappropriate in the current economy.

“What about a family with two children?” said Juliette Lam, 60, an interior designer from Manhattan. “That’s already $100.”
