More than a quarter of New Yorkers who haven’t received the COVID-19 vaccine say they have no plans to get it, according to a new survey released Tuesday.

Seven percent of state residents surveyed said they have already received the vaccine, and among those who had not, 69 percent said they plan to get inoculated while 27 percent said they do not, the Siena College poll found.

Meanwhile, a majority of New Yorkers – 55 percent – said they believe the worst of the coronavirus pandemic is yet to come, while 31 percent say they think the worst of the crisis is over, according to the poll.

National vaccination efforts kicked off in the US in mid-December.

Currently, 7 million New Yorkers, including healthcare workers, front line essential workers and the elderly, are eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the governor.

The state has so far administered about 1 million doses of the vaccine.
