The city’s cyclist death toll rose to 27 Saturday after a 25-year-old man was hit by a dump truck — which then left the scene — in East Harlem.
The cyclist was exiting the Willis Avenue Bridge near 125th Street at around 2:33 a.m. when he was struck by a grey Kenworth dump truck making a U-turn on First Avenue to get onto the Willis Avenue Bridge, police said.
Police and EMS found the man lying unconscious on the roadway with severe trauma to his body. He was pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital.
Police are looking to identify the truck and driver, last seen heading north into the Bronx.
The biker’s identity is withheld pending family notification and an investigation was ongoing Saturday.
