The family of a Queens father of three who died after receiving a diseased heart in a transplant was awarded $2.35 million by a jury that found Columbia-Presbyter–ian Hospital at fault.

“Justice has prevailed,” Stuart Finz, a lawyer for Ronald Bello’s family, said yesterday.

The 49-year-old from Howard Beach died of a massive hemorrhage in late 2006, about a week after receiving the heart at the Manhattan hospital, The Post revealed in 2010.

An autopsy found the organ was diseased, Finz said.

Bello’s family sued the hospital in Queens Supreme Court. Jurors ruled in favor of the family on Wednesday, Finz said.

The family will receive only $2 million under a pretrial agreement.

A hospital spokeswoman maintained that the care Bello received was “appropriate.”
