Three people were killed Monday after a small plane crashed and burst into flames in New Jersey, The Star Ledger reported.
The plane crashed after the pilot aborted a landing at Essex County Airport in Fairfield, authorities said.
Holly Baker, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said the aircraft was descending for a landing when the pilot pulled up just before 5:30pm.
The plane crashed moments later about two blocks north of the airport, on a patch of grass surrounded by warehouses.
All people aboard the plane, including the pilot and two passengers, died. The victims’ names were not immediately released.
It follows a plane crash on April 3 in West Milford, New Jersey in which the pilot was killed and passenger was critically injured.
In February, five people, including two children visiting from Poland, died in a crash at Monmouth Executive Airport in Wall Township, New Jersey.
