Three people were killed in a New Jersey house fire that investigators are probing as a possible murder-suicide, according to police and a new report.
The blaze broke out inside the single-family home at 123 Jackson Ave. in Wayne around 6:15 p.m. Monday, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Three adults — believed to be a man, his daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend — were pronounced dead on scene, according to cops and ABC 7.
The bodies were so severely burned that they needed to be identified through dental records, the station reported.
There are indications that the deadly fire may have been a murder-suicide, sources told the outlet.

Indicators, such as blown-out windows and the smell of gas before the fire, are reportedly leading authorities to believe the fire might not have been accidental. ABC7“[My wife] heard a loud bang and glass shattering,” neighbor Joe Sasso told ABC. “She immediately came to the front, saw billowing smoke, started running toward the house, was calling 911 as she was running toward the house.”
