A 3-year-old boy who had just gotten off a bus with his mom at a busy Staten Island intersection was hit by a pickup truck Friday, police said.
The child broke free from his parent near the corner of Barrett and Forest avenues around 10:19 a.m., ran out across the front of the bus and then to the other side of the road, where he was hit by the silver Ford Tacoma, cops said.
Miraculously, the child only suffered a minor leg injury and was transported to Richmond University Medical Center in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the truck, who had the green light, remained at the scene, and no criminality is suspected.
