A five-alarm fire at a Long Island City warehouse injured four firefighters on Wednesday night and sent thick black smoke for miles around Queens and into Manhattan.

The fire started at around 5:23 P.M. at the one-story New York Custom Interior Millwork Corporation, a family-owned wood furniture and interior design warehouse.

There was over 200 firemen at the scene working because of the “heavy fire load,” fueled by the wood, thinners and paint found in the warehouse a FDNY spokesperson said. The injuries to the firefighters were minor and it was finally subdued after about four hours.
