JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Police say four people were shot and wounded when a gunman opened fire at a northern New Jersey housing complex.

Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting early Friday at the Marion Gardens complex in Jersey City.

The victims — two women and a man from Jersey City and an Irvington man — told police they knew the shooter by name.

The victims said they were hanging out in a courtyard area when the gunman came out of a building around 2:30 a.m., yelled at them and fired six shots.

No arrest has been made.
