A 4-year-old girl was killed and her mom was injured by a hit-and-run driver who was backing out of a parking space outside a Brooklyn Laundromat, police said.
The tot, Luz Gonzalez, and her 39-year-old mother were walking at Hart Street and Wyckoff Avenue in Bushwick when the female driver backed into them at about 4:30 p.m., police said.
The 38-year-old motorist drove off in a black Nissan SUV, but was stopped by police a few blocks away. A pink child’s scooter was left at the scene, only half a mile from the family’s Myrtle Avenue home.
The unidentified mother and child were rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where the woman was treated for minor injuries and her daughter was pronounced dead, police said.
Police sources said the driver claimed she was unaware she had hit anyone when she pulled away from the scene.
No arrests have been made.
