A “blowtorch” painting by French artist Yves Klein is expected to sell for up to $40 million at a New York City auction next month.
“FC1” was created using water, two models and the blowtorch.
Art experts consider it to be Klein’s masterpiece. It was made in 1962, a few weeks before Klein’s death at age 34.
Christie’s says the fire-color painting is poised to set a new record for the artist at its May 8 auction.
