A Brooklyn gang member who gunned down a mother of 12 children loudly proclaimed his innocence yesterday — just before he was handed a sentence of 55 years to life behind bars.
Andrew Lopez, 20, was convicted last month of fatally shooting Zurana Horton, 34, with a stray bullet while firing at rival gang members from a Brownsville rooftop in 2011.
“I honestly didn’t shoot off that roof,” Lopez said.to the family in court. “I know she’s looking down at us right now and justice has been served,” said Horton’s mom Denise Peace., who held Horton’s daughter Neiyma, 3.
Horton’s family didn’t buy it.
