A 7-month-old baby girl was found dead on Long Island on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The Hempstead Police Department received a call from the baby’s mother at around 5:53 a.m., cops said. She informed them that she found her child not breathing, they said.

Police arrived at her Cornell Street home in Hempstead, and the baby was pronounced dead at 6 a.m.

Police said they are continuing to investigate the death.
