A coldhearted thug was caught on surveillance video violently knocking a grandmother to the ground and snatching her purse in the Bronx, cops said.
The 78-year-old woman was walking with her husband and granddaughter on Arthur Avenue near East 188th Street last Friday after attending an event at Fordham University when the thief struck at 11:25 p.m., police said
The bandit, described by police as a black male between 5’11 to 6’1 inches tall, snuck up behind the unsuspecting victim, yanked her purse with two arms and knocked her to the ground before fleeing, police said.
The victim suffered bruising and swelling to her leg and hip and was later hospitalized, police said. Police said the suspect is 18 to 23 years-old and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket.
