An 8-year-old girl was shot inside a Bronx NYCHA apartment early Wednesday, cops said.

The young victim was struck once in the stomach when a man walked into the apartment on East 143rd Street near Third Avenue just after 9 a.m. on the grounds of the Patterson Houses, cops said.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, and it was also unknown whether the girl was the intended target.

She was taken by private means to Lincoln Medical Center, where she is listed in stable condition.

The shooting was Gotham’s first on Wednesday. It comes a day after only two shootings were reported across the city, according to preliminary numbers released by police.

On that day last year, which was a Sunday, four shootings were reported with eight victims.
