A Syracuse man traveling to Jordan through Kennedy Airport is suing because an envelope he was carrying — containing $8,000 cash to pay for his father’s surgery — disappeared when he passed through a security screening.

As he was connecting flights at JFK on June 27, 2010, Ali Alshaikh, 36, says in his Queens Supreme Court lawsuit, he went through a second screening process with Airserv Corp.

He placed the envelope of cash inside his laptop carrier, and when he got through security the envelope was missing, his suit says.

He is suing Airserv and screener Mahindranaudt Sampat.
