Police responding to a domestic dispute in Newburgh, NY, found something unexpected — a cobra.
The discovery Sunday led to the venomous African cobra being turned over to a specialist licensed to handle dangerous reptiles, said the Times Herald-Record of nearby Middletown, NY.
Its owner, a 22-year-old man, was charged with assault and possessing a venomous snake, said the Orange County paper.
