The FDNY today confirmed that the city’s beleaguered computerized EMS dispatch system failed again this morning, causing dispatchers to resort to using pen and paper while the issue was resolved.
“The system did go down momentarily, but the problem has been fixed,” said FDNY spokesman Jim Long. “We did have to start taking calls manually for a little while.”
The FDNY did not confirm what time the system went down or how long it was down for but said the system was back up and running a short time later.
