9/11 tree lives
A tree at the World Trade Center site that was badly damaged in the 9/11 attacks has been nursed back to health and replanted.
Mayor Bloomberg and 9/11 survivors replanted the Callery Pear tree yesterday at the Sept. 11 Memorial Plaza. Bloomberg said the tree symbolizes the city’s and nation’s resilience.
It was planted at the WTC in the 1970s.
