Volunteer ambulances will soon be back in action taking calls through the city’s 911 system, a top EMS chief said at a City Council meeting last week.
In December, in a story first reported by The Post, the FDNY booted the approximately three dozen community-run ambulance squads from 911, claiming they didn’t handle calls passed through the computerized dispatch system.
Last week, EMS chief John Peruggia said the new policy would be rescinded, a council spokesman said.
