A student who prompted a six-hour shutdown of a Newark Airport terminal when he breached security to kiss his girlfriend has been fined an undisclosed amount by federal authorities.

The civil penalty from the Transportation Security Administration ends the case against Haisong Jiang, who pleaded guilty to criminal charges in March and performed 100 hours of community service and paid a $658 fine.
