Better late than never, Friends United Block Association (FUBA) and the commanding officer of the 69th Precinct received Assembly proclamations marking the contributions they have made to the Canarsie community.

At FUBA’s November meeting, Captain Milt Marmara and Gardy Brazela, FUBA’s president, were presented with the certificates by Assemblymembers Helene Weinstein and Alan Maisel, who had been unable to attend FUBA’s June dinner, at which the organization’s 13th anniversary was celebrated and Marmara was honored.

Recalling that she had been in Albany dealing with the end of the legislative session, Weinstein told the group gathered at Temple Shaare Emeth, 6012 Farragut Road, that the legislative resolutions were, “About four and a half months late, but they still have the sentiment and the appreciation from the community.”
