A ‘walk’ in the park
The city wants to make heading to Brooklyn Bridge Park safer for pedestrians and bikers.
The Department of Transportation plans to add pedestrian plazas, revise bus routes and boost bicycling access at the park’s Atlantic Avenue/Pier 6 and Old Fulton Street/Pier 1 entryways.
“I think this is a plan that is going to save people’s lives,” said Councilman Brad Lander (D-Brooklyn), who pushed for the Pier 6 traffic changes, which will be presented before Community Board 6 tonight. Rich Calder
