This bird-brained hawk played chicken with Queens Boulevard traffic and lived to tweet about it.

Firefighters believe the 10-month-old male Cooper’s hawk collided with a building near 41st Street in Sunnyside at around 2 p.m. and landed on the street. A passing couple grabbed the wounded, quarter-pound bird and handed it FDNY firefighter Robert Meyer, whose Engine Co. 325 was doing building inspections in the area.

“It’s beating both wings equally and symmetrically, so that’s a good sign, but it’s in pain,” said firefighter Bobby Horvath.
