New Yorkers are about to learn if their favorite restaurants make the grade.

The Health Department yesterday signed off on a grading system that will begin as soon as July 15.

Every restaurant in the five boroughs will receive letter grades of A, B or C based upon a set of health criteria.

Restaurants that receive B’s or C’s will have one week to fix problems before a reinspection, at which point the grades must be posted for all prospective customers.

“Letter grading enables diners to make more informed choices,” Health Commissioner Thomas Farley said.

Rob Bookman, an attorney for the industry, called the grading system “a snapshot in time.” He said that “it doesn’t reflect the conditions . . . when you want to go in.”
