The New York Civil Liberties Union won a round in its legal battle with police yesterday, when a federal judge ordered the NYPD to turn over 2,000 pages of documents related to its surveillance of protesters at the 2004 GOP Convention.
Manhattan federal Judge Richard Sullivan affirmed an Oct. 6 order that the NYPD Intelligence Division turn over documents prepared in the 18 months before the convention.
The NYCLU has filed suits challenging mass arrests of demonstrators.
