Actor and former Hells Angels biker Chuck Zito unleashed a foul-mouthed social media tirade against an NYPD cop who busted him for driving with an allegedly phony license plate — but he told The Post he’ll still always back the blue.

Zito, 71, was pulled over Monday afternoon while driving his 1968 Chevelle SS southbound on the Throgs Neck Expressway, where cops were conducting a ghost-plate operation, according to law enforcement sources.

When officers ran his tag — a dealer plate from Florida — they determined it was bogus, and put Zito in handcuffs and took him away, sources said.

Zito — a longtime friend of Donald Trump who appeared in court to support the president-elect during his New York City criminal prosecutions — characterized the arrest as outrageous and disparaged the cops who booked him in an Instagram post.

“The woman cop who arrested me …. I’m handcuffed while she’s counting my money that was confiscated, wallet and cellphone takin [sic],” Zito wrote, speculating with foul sexualized language that she was a Kamala Harris supporter.

“Cop behind me who put the cuffs on me, later in Police Van I told him the cuffs were a little tight for a license plate ticket. His response, Oh, I’m sorry, I left the Pink Fuzzy cuffs home. I wanted to knock him the F**k Out,” he added.

Zito claimed to The Post he showed the officers proper papers connecting the plates to his car, to no avail.

“It should have never happened, that’s my comment,” Zito said in a Tuesday interview. “I showed the officer who arrested me the registration, and also the insurance card to that plate number, and she still didn’t care.”

He said he spent ten hours in custody before finally being sprung – but that even after the “petty” arrest he still supports the NYPD.

“My thing is, I always fight for the cops, always respect. My family has police officers. I just say, don’t hold all cops accountable for a few bad apples,” Zito said.

“There’s lot of good ones out there. And they take their lives in their hands everyday, so you’ve got to give them the respect,” he added.

“I respect all the men and women in blue.”

The allegedly phony plate on Zito’s Chevelle — identified by TMZ — has appeared on at least two other vintage cars in his extensive collection, according to photos he’s posted to social media.

His car was towed away from the scene, while Zito said he was “booked, fingerprinted and mug shots taken,” according to TMZ.

After waiting in a cell in a cramped cell with five people, Zito said he was transferred to a separate room and left chained to a bench for four hours before finally being let go without bail — adding that it was “one HELLAVA DAY.”

“I’ll have my day in court,” he said.

Zito was charged with possession of a forged instrument.

One of the founding members of the New York branch of the notorious Hells Angels motorcycle gang, Zito later made his way into Hollywood as an actor and stuntman, appearing in movies alongside the likes of Angelina Jolie and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
