It was a purr-fect rescue!.

Cops saved a cat that got caught up in the wheel well of a Jeep in Washington Heights on Tuesday.

Residents spotted the tabby being dragged by the car near the intersection of 162nd Street and St. Nicholas Avenue shortly after 9 a.m., police said.

The witnesses flagged down the driver and called 911, prompting a response by Emergency Service Unit officers, police said.

The officers jacked up the car and rotated the wheel to free the critter’s hind legs from the car’s brakes, a source said.

Miraculously, the cat was not seriously injured and has already been returned to its owners, according to an ASPCA representative.
