A habit-bound New Jersey stickup man who served 15 years in prison for robbing his local shoe store has now been sentenced to 16 more years in prison — for robbing the very same shoe store just one day after his release.
Christopher Miller, 41, was hit with the sentence Friday for admittedly going right back to the scene of his last crime, the Stride Rite on Hooper Avenue in Toms River, once he was sprung from prison in March, 2014.
On this latest go-round, Miller demanded cash from the manager, and made off on foot with $389 and a few of the workers’ cellphones.
Turns out the manager was a longtime employee who recognized him from the 1999 robbery, and gave his description to cops.
Miller simply hadn’t remembered he’d robbed the store before, he told The Post during a jailhouse interview last year, after his latest arrest.
