ALBANY — Attorney General Andrew Cuomo ratcheted up the heat on State Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. yesterday with a broad subpoena of Senate records related to the Bronx lawmaker and his staff.

The Democratic attorney general and Bronx DA Robert Johnson have for months been probing whether Espada resides outside his district or abused taxpayer aid to the network of health clinics he founded.

The subpoena served on the Secretary of the Senate sought a wide range of Espada records, including member item requests, expenses, e-mails, text messages and telephone records.
