An Air Canada jetliner that took off from Newark en route to Vancouver had to make an emergency landing in Toronto after the cabin experienced a sudden drop in air pressure, the FAA said.

Flight 549 departed Newark about 6 p.m. and landed in Toronto two hours later.

Passengers posted on Twitter that the plane lost altitude over Pennsylvania and that oxygen masks were deployed. There were no apparent injuries.
