Air-traffic controllers at Westchester County Airport were caught on video apparently sleeping, reading and texting while on duty, WNYW/Fox 5 TV reported.

The video and photos, provided to the Fox 5 by an unnamed employee, appear to show up to 10 air-traffic controllers sleeping in the control tower, reading books, playing with their cellphones or looking at their laptop computers.

“It poses an extreme threat to public safety,” the source said.

The FAA said the control-tower elevator is out of service, and because the permanent break room is eight flights down, the back portion of the tower is now the temporary break room.
