Three suspicious passengers caused a US Airways flight from JFK Airport to Phoenix to be diverted to St. Louis yesterday, the Transportation Safety Administration said.

It’s just the latest case of flight jitters around the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

TSA officials would not say why the crew thought that the three people were acting oddly on board US Airways Flight 457.

The plane landed without incident, and the TSA has not said whether anyone was taken into custody.

On Sunday, a GoJet Airlines flight from St. Louis to Washington returned to its gate before taking off, after the crew became concerned when they found paper towels stuffed in a toilet.

Also Sunday, F-16s were scrambled to escort two airliners into New York and Detroit after crews reported suspicious activity by passengers.
